Health & Safety
The University believes that there is nothing so important that it cannot be done safely.
All suppliers are required to have a minimum of Stage 1 standard as detailed on www.ssip.org.uk and recognized by the Health & Safety Executive and comply with the University Code of Conduct.
The Estates Procurement Team have already achieved level 2 (of 5) of the Sustainable Procurement Flexible Framework, a year ahead of target. This is evidence of our commitment to ensuring goods and services are procured in the most sustainable way possible. We are now working towards Levels 3 and 4.
We've been particularly successful in appointing local contractors to conduct work at the University. During the last year, 88% of projects and maintenance contracts were conducted by local contractors.
