Alejandra Lechuga Alvarez

I ’m Alejandra, I’m from Mexico and I’m currently studying my MA in International Cultural Policy and Management. I first got involved in the Then & Now project offering my background in heritage conservation for the handling of materials and set up of the physical exhibit.

As current events have made this impossible, now I am in charge of managing the digital exhibition. For this I had to identify and organize the themes according to the content each researcher developed. Also, I ended up designing and setting a large part of the website, that I consider a huge accomplishment, as I’m not the best working with digital tools. Also, this gave me the opportunity learn what other people have been researching and actively learn about the proposed themes.

Moving from the physical to the digital world has been a real challenge for me, but I’m discovering new ways of thinking, of creating, and to work while physical distancing.

I’m very excited to be part of this project, as it has enabled me to learn from staff members and other students, and to experience their amazing creativity, imagination and determination to keep this project alive!
