I am a second year History of Art student. I joined the project as an opportunity to gain experience in archival research and working within a multi-faceted project, that demands co-ordination and collaboration between team members.

The Covid-19 crisis has introduced new challenges into the project as access to the Modern Records Centre, where the majority of archival material is held, was not permitted and not all of the archives are digitally available.

Although difficulties in accessing information has been frustrating and even impossible at times, the circumstances have made me think more creatively and broadly to overcome these obstacles, and has proven to be a valuable experience.

I would like to thank to the Modern Records Centre Archivists who have supported us throughout the project, particularly during this period of remote research in helping us obtain electronic copies of sources where possible. The project has been a worthwhile and excellent learning experience
