Enablers - all the things that make digital pedagogies possible and effective
In this section we provide an overview of the things that enable digital pedagogies. We have sub-pages for:
- Support & Consultancy Services of all kinds, including IT support and learning design consultancy - use this page to understand what kinds of support you need and how to access it.
- Digital Wellbeing.
- Communities of Practice concerning different pedagogic strategies and technologies.
- Products & Processes for example:
- a module is an outcome, and the module lifecycle uses processes such as student registration;
- an assessment is an outcome, with many inter-related processes going in to its successful completion;
- a video is an outcome, and the video production process is the process used to create it.
- Key Skills that provide essential underpinnings, for staff and students, for success in digital pedagogies (e.g. project management, Design Thinking, learning design).
- Software including the VLE, the collaboration platform, and features within platforms.
- Hardware
- Physical Spaces
- Learning Resources
For each of the enablers listed under these headings, we assess:
- Availability - who can use it? when? where? how long for? what are the limitations?
- Source - who is responsible for providing this enabler?
- Training and consultancy - who can help us to learn how to use it? who can help us to apply it in the best ways?
- Support - who can help us if we have a problem? when can they help? in what form is the help provided? what procedures should we follow to get help?
- Fit - how well does it fit with our needs and capabilities? can we use it efficiently? how usable is it? how accessible is it?
- Reliability
