Obverse
- Legend: DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER (referring to the divine Augustus as the father (pater) of Tiberius).
- Divine head of Augustus: Augustus is shown as a god via a radiate crown.
Reverse
- Legend: S C (= senatus consultum), ‘by decree of the Senate’.
- Thunderbolt: A winged thunderbolt with bolts of lightning coming from it. The thunderbolt was an attribute of Jupiter, and so Augustus is aligned with the god here.
