WiP Session - Dr Elise Smith, 'From Physical Anthropology to Psychological Anthropology: Racial Science in the Torres Strait, 1898-99.'

Dr Elise Smith will pre-circulate a chapter looking at how the Cambridge Anthropological Expedition to the Torres Strait (1898-99) changed the character (but arguably not the substance) of racial research. The chapter will also become part of the revised conclusion for her forthcoming book, and she would like to discuss it -- and perhaps the curious nature of the book conclusion more generally --when we meet!
