This is our primary degree programme and is hosted wholly within the Department of Film and Television Studies. The course will move you through the foundations of film analysis, theory and history, to develop your understanding of specific national and historic film cultures, through to enabling you to specialise in topics of special interest, led by staff research expertise, with the opportunity to write and research an independent dissertation project. |

Essential Information

BTEC: We welcome applications from students with other recognised qualifications. Applicants with BTEC qualifications are considered on an individual basis, taking into account both (a) the degree of focus on close analysis of texts, and (b) GCSE qualification. Our typical BTEC offers are as follows:
- BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A-Levels) – DDM overall
- BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (equivalent to 2 A-Levels) plus 1 A-Level – DD in the BTEC plus grade B in the A-Level OR DM in the BTEC plus grade A in the A-Level
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate (equivalent to 1 A-Level) plus 2 A-Levels – Distinction in the BTEC plus grades A,B in two A-Levels OR Merit in the BTEC plus grades AA in two A-Levels.
