We are continually updating our modules to reflect the latest research and expertise within our Departments. Please check the module pages below for the most up-to-date information.

For Design & GSD students:

Second-year core modules

• All students (those studying at Monash and those that are not studying at Monash) must take both of the following Design Studies core modules:

Second-year Design Studies optional core modules - for students NOT studying at Monash

• Students must choose 30 CATS from the following:

Second-year GSD optional core modules - for students NOT studying at Monash

• Students must choose 30 CATS from the following:

Second-year optional core modules - for students studying at Monash

Students studying at Monash in terms 2 and 3 must choose 15 CATS from the following optional core modules in term one, in addition to the two Design Studies core modules (DI207 & DI209) and GD200-60 - Study Abroad (Part Year):

Honours level optional modules

• GSD Students: These optional modules are available for GSD students in their second or final year (*except where indicated otherwise).
• External students: For non-GSD students, please check each module page for availability as an outside module. If you wish to apply to take a GSD module, please complete the form.

Final-year core modules

Students must also choose 30 CATS of approved optional modules from a range of honours level optional modules offered by GSD or another department.

Please note: Module availability and staffing may change year on year depending on availability and other operational factors. The School for Cross-faculty Studies makes no guarantee that any modules will be offered in a particular year, or that they will necessarily be taught by the staff listed on these pages.
