Stuart Croft and IGSD welcomes Uzbekistan Embassy Delegation to Warwick
On Monday 17th July, Professor Stuart Croft, Vice Chancellor, Professor Kerry Kirwan, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor and Emily Lim, Associate Director (Asia, Americas & Middle East), International Strategy and Relations welcomed Uzbekistan Embassy delegation to Warwick.
Ambassador Said Rustamov, Senator Sodyq Safaev, Dr Akram Umarov and Mr Giles Polglase were warmly welcomed and given a tour of campus which was followed by discussions over dinner. This visit, which was curated by IGSD, Director Prof Elena Korosteleva, formed the initial steps to understanding Uzbekistan’s priorities in education, research, science and innovation and to learn more about each other’s institutions including structures, programmes and research strengths. We are looking forward to continuing this relationship and exploring potential collaborations.
Prof. Kerry Kirwan will also be attending the Uzbek-British Business Showcase at the Institute of Directors, London on Monday 24th July by special invitation from Bakhtiyor Saidov, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
