Liam Shah
Liam Shah is a Senior Research Manager at Ecorys UK, an international provider of research and evaluation consultancy services, having progressed from a Research Assistant over time. Liam is an experienced mixed methods researcher specialising in the field of monitoring, evaluation and learning for international development projects, programmes and policies, working with clients such as the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Independent Commission for Aid Impact, and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Over the past 4 years, Liam has managed and collaborated on a number of large, complex multi-country and multi-stakeholder research and evaluation projects across social, economic and environmental areas of sustainable development, including in global education, global health, development finance, biodiversity conservation and climate resilience. His work is largely focused on international sustainable development issues in Africa and Asia, but he also works on projects that focus on UK domestic policy. He has a keen interest in applying theory-based and complexity-responsive approaches and methodologies to understand and disentangle ‘what works, how, why, and for whom’ in sustainable development, using them to generate useful, timely and actionable findings, learnings and recommendations for decision-makers to deliver transformational and impactful changes. He graduated in BASc Economic Studies and Global Sustainable Development at the University of Warwick in 2019, before completing a masters’ degree in MSc Development Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2020.
