New staff join the School for Cross-faculty Studies!
We are very pleased to have welcomed several new members of staff to the School for Cross-faculty Studies this term:
Dr William Rupp
Will has joined the Liberal Arts Department as a Teaching Fellow. Will is the Adjustments and Disability Officer and Widening Participation Officer for the department.
About Will
Will joined the Warwick community in 2006 as a postgraduate student. Since completing his PhD, Will has been employed here in a variety of roles. These have included working as part of Warwick's outreach and widening participation initiatives, including managing UniTracks, the University's national network for gifted and talented school students. His work has also included supporting Warwick's international partnership development, particularly through involvement with the Monash-Warwick Alliance. Between 2015 and 2021, Will was a member of the Academic Development Centre, working specifically to help support the University’s community of postgraduate teachers.

Claire Atkins
Claire has joined the GSD Department as a Leverhulme-TRANSFORM CDT Administrator. Claire's focus is on running our Leverhulme-TRANSFORM Centre for Doctoral Training in Global Sustainable Development, as the principal point of contact for TRANSFORM's scholarship applicants and students.
About Claire
Before joining the GSD Department, Claire worked at Warwick's Law School as an Admissions Coordinator, following a career break. Prior to this, Claire spent seven years as an Assistant Registrar (Programme Quality and Teaching Partnerships) in the Academic Registry at Loughborough University. Claire has also had experience as an International Officer at the University of Nottingham with specific responsibility for sub-Saharan Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
"I am looking forward to getting to know colleagues and the community of postgraduate research students. It is particularly exciting to be joining TRANSFORM as it welcomes its first cohort, and to be a part of the programme's development at an early stage."
Lily Brown
Lily has joined the School as a Postgraduate Coordinator, working with staff and students on our new postgraduate programmes in Global Sustainable Development.
About Lily
Lily is currently completing a PhD in Children’s Literature at Anglia Ruskin University. Lily studied an undergraduate degree in English Literature followed by a Master's degree in English Literature at the University of Reading.
"So far, I have really enjoyed meeting the staff and students in the School and the excitement of being part of the team working on brand new courses at Warwick. I am looking forward to seeing how the courses develop and working with other staff in the department to offer courses which contribute to a great student experience."
Dr Rosa Fernandez
Rosa has joined the GSD Department as an Associate Professor and is responsible for the online and distance learning provision within the department.
About Rosa
Before joining the GSD Department, Rosa spent seven years at the University of Chester, where she was Programme Leader of Economics, and Deputy Head of Department in Social and Political Science. She previously worked at the University of Birmingham and UNED (Spain), with visiting researcher stances at the universities of Exeter, Bradford and York (Canada).
Rosa is an applied economist, with an interdisciplinary approach. Her research interests are wide ranging, and cover environment, climate change and energy economics and policies, green economy and green growth, sustainability transitions, health and food poverty, corporate social responsibility and European integration, among others.
Dr Charlie Rumsby
Charlie has joined the GSD Department as a Visiting Research Fellow.
About Charlie
Charlie is a fellow at The Sociological Review Journal based at Keele University. She is currently writing her monograph that explores identity and belonging among Vietnamese children living as de facto stateless in Cambodia and covers themes such as citizenship, human rights, morality, religious conversion, ethnicity and inter-generational mobilities.
