School for Cross-faculty Studies students to present at ICUR 2019

The International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) is an annual academic conference, led and sponsored by the University of Warwick and Monash University, connecting student researchers globally using video conferencing technology.

ICUR encourages students to rethink their own work in an international context. As a forum, it requires presenters to consider the perspective of students from different backgrounds. This challenge also translates to research questions, encouraging students to examine global and regional trends in their research field, and how these might conflict with local concerns and specificities.

This year, the forum will take place on the 24th and 25th of September in The Oculus building, where several students from the School for Cross-faculty Studies will be presenting their research:

Tuesday 24 September 2019

Deconstructing the sustainable development paradox and reconstructing its potentials

Ceara Webster (Liberal Arts, final year) | 08:00am-09:30am | Oculus 1.09

Wednesday 25 September 2019

The 'Facts of Biology': Evaluating the Role of Positivist-Empiricist Science in Understanding Homosexuality

Georgia Evans (Liberal Arts, second year) | 14:00pm-15:30pm | Oculus 1.06

We encourage both staff and students to support our students presenting their research on the day, to experience the interesting and varied discussions, and to be inspired to join the conversation next year.

To view the full schedule for the two days, please see here. To register to attend ICUR 2019, please fill out the booking form via the following link before Friday 20 September 2019.

We wish our students presenting their research next week the best of luck!
