Dr Elena Riva has been working with Prof Vibeke Jenny Koushede (Head of Department of Psychology at Copenhagen) who was interested in Elena’s IATL Wellbeing module, the in-classroom module that will become the online Warwick module open to all students which WIHEA supported a few months ago. After months of consultation, their Faculty has decided to proceed with the creation of a Danish version of it. It’s fantastic news – well done Elena!

This year's call for WIHEA project proposals opened on 12 October 2020. The submission date for Term 1 is mid-day, Monday, 23 November 2020

‘Learning to Fly’: Exploring the intersections of multilingual and interdisciplinary pedagogies to cultivate hospitable, dynamic, and inclusive learning spaces

Monday, 11 May, Online 12-3pm

Developed by colleagues from across the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, led by WIHEA Fellows Dr Bryan Brazeau (Liberal Arts) and Todd Olive (Global Sustainable Development), 'Learning to Fly' explores an uncharted frontier in learning spaces: one in which the insights of multilingual and interdisciplinary teaching combine to create new, exciting learning environments. During this workshop, we will explore the barriers built by languages of all kinds—whether spoken, disciplinary, or conceptual; in the process, we will discover the ways in which they can be overcome. We welcome students and staff from all disciplinary backgrounds whether monolingual or multicultural, transdisciplinarian or field specialist. Register your interest. Please note spaces are limited.

As a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Learning Circle meetings where possible will move to on-line conferencing and team resources such as StarLeaf and Teams or other virtual meeting platforms which will enable members to still progress and network.
