Professor Elizabeth Burton has opened a debate by I'DGO partner, the International Longevity Centre, on The Impact of Localism on the Homes and Communities of Older People. Prior to speeches by panellists including Sue Adams (Care and Repair England) and Gemma Bradshaw (Age UK), Elizabeth presented evidence from the first phase of I'DGO and preliminary findings from I'DGO TOO. Responding to recent policy moves towards the decentralisation of service provision, the debate explored the potential for delivering lifetime homes and neighbourhoods under a devolved decision making process ('localism'). Held on 29th November 2010 in central London, it was hosted by Arup and supported by Anchor and Audley.
