Dr Matteo Leta
Dr Matteo Leta has recently started a four-year fellowship at Link opens in a new windowLink opens in a new windowUCD in the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics.Link opens in a new windowLink opens in a new window His project is entitled ‘Staging Otherness: The Representation of “Gypsies”, Turks, and Moors in Italian Renaissance Comedies and their European Translations (c.1500-1650)’.
Matteo was a IAS EUTOPIA SIF Fellow (2024-25). He joined the University of Warwick following the completion of a MA at Università della Calabria, a PhD at Sorbonne Université and having held research and teaching roles in Europe (MPIWG, IISF, University of Trier, University College Dublin, LUISS) and North America (University of Toronto).
Matteo's research interests are centred on the intersections between the sciences and playwriting, as well as the representation of otherness in the Renaissance.
