IAS Early Career Fellows, Dr Yanyan Li and Shaoyu Yang, Awarded Funding to Develop Wellbeing Programme for Researchers

Two Early-Career Fellows, Dr Yanyan Li and Shaoyu Yang, have secured £9,996.40 from the Enhancing Research Culture Fund for their project, 'Creating Trauma-Oriented Coping Strategies for Researchers Experiencing Vicarious Trauma Arising from Conducting Emotionally Challenging Research'.

In collaboration with Dr Helen Nolan (Associate Professor, Warwick Medical School) and Denver Thrope (Staff Wellbeing Coordinator, Wellbeing Services), they will design a wellbeing programme focused on navigating vicarious trauma and develop an open-access online repository of trauma-oriented coping tools and resources.

This project addresses the growing need for structured, trauma-informed support for researchers who experience vicarious trauma while conducting emotionally challenging work. It aims to establish a lasting, accessible support system that enhances researcher wellbeing and improves the sustainability of trauma-related academic work across the University.
