Call for Workshops

The 26th International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems

AAMAS 2027 invites proposals for the workshop program, which will be held on May 3-4, 2027, immediately before the main program of the AAMAS conference.

The objectives of the AAMAS 2027 workshop program are to stimulate and facilitate discussion, interaction, and comparison of approaches, methods, and ideas related to specific topics, both theoretical and applied, in the general area of Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems. The AAMAS 2027 workshops will provide an informal setting where participants will have the opportunity to discuss specific technical topics, fostering the active exchange of ideas and supporting community development. AAMAS 2027 workshops may vary in length from half a day to two days, though most are expected to last one full day.

We encourage workshop proposals that focus on emerging topics, open research questions and challenges, and broader subjects of interest to a wider community. We also welcome workshops with previous editions at AAMAS that can attract established communities working in the same research area. Workshop organizers are also strongly encouraged to include hands-on, interactive activities to foster collaboration and discussion among participants.

Attendance will be limited to registered participants. Organizers and attendees (including presenters, panelists, and authors of accepted workshop papers) must register for their workshop, which will have a separate fee from the main conference. Workshop organizers and attendees are not required to register for the main AAMAS conference if they do not plan to attend it, though this is highly encouraged.

AAMAS 2027 will be an in-person event in Hanoi, Vietnam. We expect all workshop participants to attend the workshops in person.

AAMAS 2027 reserves the right to cancel workshops if the registration numbers do not cover their operating costs.

  3. Proposed Format and Schedule: A preliminary workshop format and schedule, including the desired length. Please include a brief description of how the organizers plan to encourage an atmosphere appropriate for a workshop and indicate whether the organizers intend to have any activities other than contributed talks (e.g., invited talks, panels, or posters).
  4. Related Workshops: A list of related workshops held in the past three years, if any, and their relation to the proposed workshop. Please include the following information, when available: when and where they were held (i.e., at AAMAS or another conference), organizers’ names and affiliations, number of submitted/accepted papers, approximate attendance, and follow-up publications (e.g., journal special issues). For workshops with previous editions (even if they had different titles or were not held at AAMAS), please include a list of URLs for the websites of those editions.
  5. Review Process: A description of the workshop paper review process and the criteria used to make workshop paper acceptance and rejection decisions.
  6. Organizers: The names, affiliations, URLs, and email addresses of the proposed workshop organizers. The workshop organizing committee must consist of two to four organizers knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the workshop. The workshop organizing committee should include individuals from multiple institutions across different regions. By submitting the workshop proposal, the organizers commit to fulfilling the responsibilities outlined below in the “Responsibilities” section.

  11. Tentative Attendees:If available, a list of individuals who have tentatively confirmed their attendance.
  12. Student Accessibility and Engagement Plan (NEW): Each workshop is required to provide a concrete plan for improving the accessibility of the corresponding workshop program for student attendees. The plan may include strategies for recruiting students to attend the workshop, making technical talks and presentations more accessible and understandable to students, developing programs and activities specifically designed for students, and helping students engage with and develop a deeper understanding of the workshop material.

In addition to the above items, please include a brief resume/CV (maximum half a page) for each workshop organizer. Resumes/CVs will not count toward the proposal’s page limit. Please focus on each organizer’s qualifications relevant to organizing an AAMAS workshop, including key publications demonstrating expertise in the field and prior workshop organization experience, if any. Please note that strong proposals should include organizers who bring diverse perspectives to the workshop topic and are actively engaged with the communities of potential participants.

Selection Process

Workshop proposals will be selected for inclusion in the workshop program based on several factors, including the scientific and technical relevance of the workshop topics to the AAMAS community, the clarity of the workshop proposal and its completeness, the innovative character of the workshop topics, the organizers’ expertise to lead a successful workshop, and the overall capacity of the AAMAS workshop program.

Cross-disciplinarity is not mandatory, but if the proposed workshop addresses a topic that by its nature spans multiple disciplines, please highlight this and specify the disciplines involved.

Please note that AAMAS may request that proposers with similar or overlapping content areas merge their workshops.

For all accepted workshop proposals, AAMAS will be responsible for:
