AAMAS 2027 - Q&A for Submission and Review Process

On this page we, the programme chairs of AAMAS-2027, will try to respond to frequently asked questions by both authors and members of the programme committee. The latter includes regular PC members, senior PC members, and area chairs. 1. Does AAMAS 2027 have extended abstracts this year?

No. This year, AAMAS 2027 does not have extended abstracts. Instead, we have Findings [see detailed information here]. Findings are not extended abstracts. They are full-length, high-quality peer-reviewed papers whose contribution is valuable, citable, and relevant to the conference community, but typically narrower, more focused, more exploratory, or less mature than Full Papers. Papers selected for findings will be published in the Findings of AAMAS 2027 under CC-BY license.

2. Can I include an appendix beyond the 8-page limit?

No. An appendix included in the main paper is considered part of the paper and therefore counts towards the 8-page limit. Appendices do not provide additional pages beyond the standard page limit.

Additional material, such as extended proofs, further experimental details, code, datasets, or other supporting information, may instead be included as supplementary material. Please note that reviewers are not required to consult supplementary material. Therefore, all information that is essential for understanding and evaluating the paper must be included in the main 8-page submission.

3. What should I do if I used an AI-assisted technology but did not retain the exact prompts or model version?

Do not reconstruct or guess information that was not retained. Instead, disclose this explicitly and provide the most accurate information available, including the AI tool or model family used, the purpose and nature of the interaction, and which parts of the work were affected. Where the exact model version or prompts are not known, this should be stated clearly. For any subsequent use of AI-assisted technologies covered by the AAMAS 2027 disclosure policy, authors should retain the relevant prompts and model/version information.

4. What should I report if my use of an AI-assisted technology involved an extended multi-turn conversation?

Where records are available, authors should report the relevant prompts or conversation history and explain how the interaction contributed to the work. If complete records are not available, authors should provide an accurate description of the interaction and clearly state which information was not retained. Authors should not reconstruct or invent exact prompts that were not retained.
