Alistair Brown
Tributes paid to talented engineering student Alistair Brown after his recent death
We are deeply saddened to share the news that Alistair Brown, a 3rd year Engineering student, has died. We’d like to express our heartfelt condolences to Alistair’s family, friends, and peers.
Gary Fowmes, Senior Tutor in the School of Engineering says “Alistair was a polite and modest student who was always well-prepared. He showed great passion and enthusiasm for a broad range of engineering subjects from the outset of his studies here at Warwick and had recently decided to specialise in Mechanical Engineering. Alistair was highly thought of by both staff and students within the School of Engineering and will be greatly missed”.
His family said he had a great love for watersports, especially kayaking. When Ali – as he was known to those close to him - started at Warwick, he merged his engineering skill with his love for watersports, and 3D printed parts for his boat.
He will be hugely missed by all those who knew him and will be remembered for so many wonderful things, including of course his fantastic beard.
We know this will be distressing and unexpected news for everyone, especially those who knew Alistair personally. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need support, or if you have any concerns about someone else.
