Product Development Engineer (KTP Associate) at Marlborough Brickwork Limited, Leeds - Deadline: 26/03/17

Position: Mechanical Engineer (KTP Associate)
Based at: Marlborough Brickwork Limited in Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: £22,000 - £27,200 depending on your experience (Fixed term for 24 months)

Marlborough, is a leading specialist contractor in brickwork and blockwork, stonework, cladding and other façade products. It has proven the concept of an innovative mortar heating system using advanced materials science and technology that has the potential of preventing mortar failure in cold temperatures and revolutionising construction work during the winter months.

The company has identified a need to investigate, research and develop this concept to pre-production level. You will be working at the junctions of construction, materials science, mechanical / electrical engineering and design.

Qualifications we require:

You should have a degree in Civil Engineering/Materials Engineering with knowledge and experience of material testing techniques relevant to the project.

The successful candidate must possess:

uExperience of analysing and interpreting experimental data
uExcellent communication, report writing and presentation skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Essential skills we require as a minimum:

uGood knowledge of Construction/Engineering Materials, Basics of Electrical Technology
uAbility/interest to use mechanical and electrical equipment and to set up basic but innovative electrical circuits for building heated brickwork walls (prototypes)
uRelevant Industrial or research experience
