£24K – £28K (up to £35K for an exceptional candidate) per annum depending on qualifications plus £4K Personal Development Budget and Management Training Programme (2 Year Fixed Term Position)

Are you interested in shaping the future of the development of the next generation of cost effective and hazardous environments, compliant lifting and handling equipment? Are you an excellent communicator and project manager? If so this may be the role for you.

The University of Derby and Palamatic are offering a rare opportunity to lead a strategic project to research and design their next generation lifting and handling equipment. The project will transform the company's products and open up new opportunities in the UK and Overseas.

Palamatic are looking for an enthusiastic recent graduate to help deliver a project to take a new innovative product to market. This is a real opportunity to make a difference in a dynamic manufacturing business.

We are looking for a graduate with a first or upper second class degree with honours in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc MPhil in a related subject e.g. Mechanical Engineering/Materials, to undertake a 24 month fixed term position between the University of Derby and Palamatic.

To undertake this role you will have experience of product development and evaluation of materials, you will possess the ability to gain accurate knowledge and understand ATEX regulations. You will need to be an experienced Project Manager – and proficient using project management tools. You will also need industrial report writing skills to a high standard as well as excellent spoken English. A passion for high risk environments would be of benefit.

You will have a structured and logical approach with excellent presentation skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and categorise complex levels of data.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships - This full-time post is part-funded by the UK Government’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme. A KTP is a three-way project between a graduate, an organisation and a university. KTP is one of the UK’s largest graduate recruitment programmes and has been placing graduates on challenging, high profile projects for over 39 years.
