Gas Safety in Engineering
Only a Gas Safe Registered Engineer is legally allowed to work on gas appliances and installations. The Gas Safe Register is the official stamp for gas safety in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey. CORGI registration is no longer valid.
Currently the School of Engineering does not have any Gas Safe Registered members of staff. In order to manage any natural gas installation work within the School of Engineering, the Facilities Manager must first be consulted. He will then obtain a quotation for the work to be done, together with the testing and certification of the installation.
No-one else should commission any work with natural gas installations.
