Joint TC304-TC309 Workshop in Sydney on 'Risk Assessment and Machine Learning in Geotechnical Engineering'
Dr Rezania and and Prof. Jinsong Huang of Newcastle University in Australia, organised and ran the joint ISSMGE TC304-TC309 Pre-conference Workshop on 'Risk Assessment and Machine Learning in Geotechnical Engineering' during the ICSMGE 2022 Conference in Sydney (May 2022). The workshop was a great success, well over 200 online and in-person participants attended the hybrid session. Invited Talk to Insights Wales
Dr Rezania has given an invited talk to Environment Platform Wales (Insights Wales) on the topic of "Valorisation of coal mining waste; an overview of the MINRESCUE project". The recording of the talk is available via [link].
New paper in Journal of Rock and Soil Mechanics
The paper entitled "Post-failure analysis of landslides in spatially varying soil deposits using stochastic material point method" by Guotao Ma, Mohammad Rezania, Mohad Mousavi Nezhad and Butao Shi has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Rock and Soil Mechanics (RSM), 2022.
5th MINRESCUE meeting
The 5th progress meeting of the European Commission's MINRESCUE project was held on Thursday January 28. Significant progress and lots of original contributions have been made on the valorization of coal mining wastes by the different project partners, that are soon to be submitted to the Commission in the form of the project's mid-term report.
