Biography
Sophie studied MSci Chemistry with Industrial Experience at the University of Birmingham, graduating in 2019. From 2016-2017, Sophie worked in R&D in the polymer industry, focusing on production, characterisation and degradation of polymer backsheets for photovoltaic modules. Her master's thesis focused on transition metal carnallites as lead-free alternatives to perovskites for photovoltaics.
From 2019-2023, Sophie undertook her PhD in Electronic Materials and InterfacesLink opens in a new window laboratory in the School of Engineering at the University of Warwick, with a thesis focusing on "Enhancing electronic materials by chemical treatments and nanoscale dielectrics", receiving the SEM Faculty Thesis prize, before starting as a Research Fellow in 2023. In October 2024, Sophie started her Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship.
