Communications
Our research in Communications involves more than twenty people, consisting of academic- and research- staff, as well as research students. It covers the multidisciplinary field of information and communications technology coupled with its diverse applications. Our interests include optical and radio communications, nanoscale communications, network security and network protocols.
Communications research laboratories:
- ComSysLab: mobile and fixed networks, both in terms of the physical layer (hardware), as well as protocol structures, routing and securing wireless communications. This covers a wide part of the communications spectrum, from microwaves to optical wavelengths (mm to nm).
- ComNetLab: nanoscale communications, network coding, optical wireless security, cognitive radio and intelligent systems.
- Vehicular Communications Research Laboratory (VCRL): A laboratory dedicated to any and all aspects of communications with vehicular applications.
Please note that undergraduate student internships are not available.
We receive numerous enquiries regarding undergraduate student internships and placements. There are no opportunities for internships as such schemes do not fit with our academic year.
Please do not email us regarding internships. Your cooperation is appreciated.
