Electrical Power

Energy networks in the UK and EU are about to undergo the most radical transformation in a century as a result of the pressing needs to tackle climate change and ensure energy independence. To harness renewable energy from wind, solar radiation, moving tides or geothermal sources, innovations in the underpinning technologies behind the generation, conversion and storage of energy are required. Furthermore, harmonising these renewable sources with the existing traditional energy infrastructure also poses significant engineering challenges.

The University of Warwick’s School of Engineering is home to the Electrical Power research labs that have developed significant expertise in tackling these problems.
