dr Leandro Pecchia has been invited as Young Scientist in the World Laureate Forum 2020 - Young Scientist Forum 8 - Artificial Intelligence Session I

Artificial intelligence and innovation information technologies are now ubiquitous, and they are growing in importance in almost every discipline. Young scientists from the U.S.A., Singapore, China will present applications of artificial intelligence in smart cities and new infrastructure, tailing mining industry, laboratory automation, and the social media experience. There is also discussion of robots to support commercial and emergency scenarios, as part of a smarter future.

A decision-making support algorithm for active implantable medical devices evaluation.

Martina Andellini was interviewed about this project carried out in Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome.

This project aims at developing a rigorous and reliable decision-making support algorithm for active implantable medical devices (AIMDs) in order to evaluate their performances and to finally select the most suitable and patient-specific AIMDs model.

Elderly homecare and Active Aging European Initiatives after COVID-19

The role of biomedical engineers in COVID-19 response

Davide Piaggio, Alessia Maccaro and Leandro Pecchia held this seminar at the International webinar on post-COVID healthcare (Chennai (India), 2020).

The main challenges arising from COVID-19 were presented, with a specific focus on ethics and the role of biomedical engineers in the response to the pandemic.

Dr Pecchia Keynote at the Better Future of Health Ageing 2020 - European Council Presidency Conference

4th of June, 2020, 12 CEST (11am UK)

The Croatian EU Council Presidency Conference on Better Future of Healthy Ageing 2020 (BFHA 2020) will be held online from June 3rd to 5th due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation.

BFHA2020 is organized by the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, under the auspices of the European Commission as part of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Dr Pecchia will give a keynote talk titled The Impact of Smart Technologies in the Future of Healthy Ageing.
