Image Processing and Expert Systems (IPES) Laboratory
Research areas
Our research is extensive and covers the following areas:
- Affective computing (emotion computing) via analysis of facial expressions and EEG signals
- Video surveillance: gait recognition, human activity recognition
- Autonomous navigation: Stereo and 3D image processing for collision avoidance
- Tracking: hand tracking, tracking of 3D surfaces using multiple cameras
- Scene flow and motion estimation
- Three dimensional object/scene reconstruction: shape from silhouettes, structure from motion, depth from defocus
- Multiscale image processing: texture segmentation, filtering
- Image enhancement
