Consortium
FabSurfWAR is based on a consortium of 10 partners from key research universities in Europe and Asia with complementary knowledge of the main subject areas.
The consortium partners each perform different roles associated with their individual scientific and technological expertise as outlined below:

Expertise: Nanosphere lithography, micro/nano-fabrication, surface characterisation, electroforming of character and nanocomposite microstructures, micro and nanotamography. Contribution: Project management and design; technology road mapping; relationship between surface feature and surface functions; surface modification and lithography; nano-characterisation and testing; and hydrophobic surface fabrication. |
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology |
Expertise: Laser-assisted surface modification of polymers, metals and ceramics for control of wettability and biocompatibility, characterisation of surface functionalities by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. Contribution: Project management and design; relationship between surface feature and surface functions; surface modification by laser assisted UV radiation and fs-laser; large scale fabrication/modification; and wettability measurement and analysis. |

Asociación Centro Tecnológico Ceit-IK4 |
Expertise: Additive and subtractive laser processes for a wide range of applications such as laser tempering, laser cladding, laser additive manufacturing, laser micromanufacturing and surface texturing. Contribution: Project management and design; hierarchical surface structures based on femtosecond laser and laser interference; and characterisation of surfaces for de-icing applications. |

Expertise: Functional surfaces, porous structures, engineering ceramics and processing of ceramics, friction and wear, electrical response of surfaces, chemical synthesis. Contribution: Project management; assesement of relevant technologies; nano-fabrication for funcational surfaces; surface metrology and characterisation; and functional medical surgery tools. |
Changchun University of Science and Technology (CNM) |
Expertise: Nanophotonics and biophotonics, nanocharacterisation and testing, nano/pico-sensing and coordinate measurement, robotic nanohandling, nanoassembly, hybrid nanoassembly, biomedical robotics on the micro and nano scale for cell detection, manipulation and testing. Contribution: Project management; technology road mapping; nanolithography for functional surfaces; laser-based fabrication; and surface metrology and characterisation. |

Expertise: Bionic anti-adhesion and anti-resistance of terrain machines, bionic designs and their bio-production and bio-processing machines, and biomimetic tribology and biomimetic materials. Contribution: Project management; elaboration of user requirements and applications; bio-mimicry of functional surfaces; anti-adhesion agriculture devices; surface modelling and representation. |
Universiti Malaysia Pahang |
Expertise: Design and fabrication, manufacturing processes on the metal sheet, plastic processing biotechnology, bioenergy, environmental technology, biological testing and analyses. Contribution: Project management; surface measurement and characterisation; bacterial growth; biological testing of functional surfaces; and nanolithography for functional surfaces. |
The partners will play complementary roles in the project activities and will use their synergies to achieve the objectives of the programme.
