Yanling Tian is a Professor with Tianjin University. He obtained his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Northwest Institute of Light Industry in 1997, and M.S. and Ph.D degrees in mechatronics engineering from Tianjin University in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He has extensive expertise in the areas of surface metrology and characterization, signal processing and laser-interferometry-based sensing and measurement, mechanical kinematics and dynamics, micro/nanomanipulation mechanisms and systems.
As the principal investigator, he has been granted over 10 government and industry-based projects. Dr. Tian has published more than 80 papers in prestigious journals and peer-reviewed international conferences. The total number of citations is in excess of 380, and the SCI citation H-index reaches up to 12. Moreover, 5 papers have been highlighted as the most cited papers in last five years by Precision Engineering, Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, and Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing. He is the holder of 10 patents and has been awarded several prestigious awards including Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers, Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship, and New Century Excellent Talents in University.
