Seminars and opportunities outside of HetSys
Please see below for details of seminars that are taking place across the University.
Royce workshops
Knowledge of entrepreneurship routes and processes is increasingly important for materials science researchers in the UK as it provides early opportunities to meet with industrial partners and other stakeholders. As the UK’s national institute for advanced materials research Royce is keen to help researchers learn about the innovation and commercialisation landscape and make them aware of the support available.
The Piscopia Initiative – creating a community of women and non-binary researchers in Mathematics
Piscopia is an organisation encouraging women and non-binary people to pursue PhDs in mathematics. The local Warwick committee are looking to recruit new members to help organise events. This is a small commitment, with roughly one event every term. The events are aimed at female and non-binary undergraduates, to share information about the PhD experience. The plan for this term is to run a coffee morning with current PhD students and undergraduates, where we can chat with the undergraduates about their mathematical interests and potential PhD plans.
If you are interested in joining please contact Patience Ablett at patience.ablett@warwick.ac.uk. For more information see https://piscopia.co.uk/.
