A first step to tackle problems arising in applications is to formulate them in a mathematical language.

In order to enable our students to gain experience and training we could gain Professor John Ockendon from Oxford to come to Warwick for an example based mini-course on mathematical modelling.

From 5 - 21 November 2012 we worked in small groups under his guidance on some problems that he brought up.
