Programming training courses in September 2023 (C++ and FORTRAN)

Warwick RSE is happy to announce that we are running two training courses in September 2023, on the 25th and 29th .

FORTRAN is still the preeminent language of high performance computing and has many helpful features that make it a good language for people who need higher performance to learn when moving from interpreted languages like Python or Matlab. Warwick RSE's "Fortran for Researchers" course on the 25th September 2023 assumes that you are familiar with the basic concepts of computer programming but have no knowledge or Fortran or compiled languages in general. C++ is probably the most commonly used compiled language for new research software packages, and is by far the most powerful of the "big three" academic programming languages for writing libraries. Warwick RSE's "C++ for Researchers (Part 1)" course on the 29th September 2023 aims to develop a systematic understanding of how the language works that will be helpful in learning more advanced development in C++.
