Summer research programme for female undergraduate students
About
About This is a 6-week cohort-based research experience at Warwick for female undergraduate students of mathematics. Our aim is to encourage women to get into mathematics research.
Eligibility
Female undergraduate students at UK universities are encouraged to apply. You should be in the penultimate year of an undergraduate programme whose main focus is mathematics. How will this work?
-
We plan for a cohort of 9-12 students, who will all live at the University of Warwick for 6 weeks , 5 July - 14 August.
-
You will work in a group of 2-4 on a common mathematics research problem, supervised by a member of the Warwick research staff and with the further support of a PhD student mentor. Occasional meetings will be on Zoom, but there will be plenty of in-person interaction.
-
Problems will come from a range of mathematical areas. Since these are group projects, we ask that you are flexible and willing to try out new maths stuff.
-
In addition to the research problems, we'll provide a range of academic and social activities bringing all students together.
-
We will provide accommodation on campus (ensuite rooms) and in addition, participants will receive a stipend to cover living expenses.
-
We will also reimburse round-trip train fare to Coventry.
