Viscosity of Nano-confined Flows
Nano-confined fluid in the close vicinity of a wall exhibits rich variety of fluid-dynamic behaviour including density layering, enhanced or inhibited transport coefficients, phase transitions, etc. Computer simulations as well as experimental studies show deviations from classical Navier-Stokes and isotropic behaviour. In this talk we will discuss the continuum interpretation of the fluid-mechanical phenomena observed for nano-confined flows. We will also present the anisotropic and non-local character of viscosity, based on Green-Kubo formulation and equilibrium molecular dynamics (EMD) simulations.
