Graduate Summer School - Modelling Antimicrobial Resistance

Welcome to the MathSys Summer School 2016 site.

Please use the navigation above to access the event programme, slides, additional material and modelling challenge.

This 3-day antimicrobial modelling summer school was open to all early career modellers at UK institutions.
It took place on 4-6 July 2016.

Talks touched upon modelling in various contexts: hospital acquired infections (Robinson), public health data (Robotham), pharmacokinetics (Chappell), diagnostics (Covington), drug discovery (Cain), environmental spread of AMR (Wellington/Mead) and conflicting priorities in health programmes (Porco).

Alongside this, the modellers took part in a Modelling Challenge, working in teams to look for trends in Public Health England antimicrobial usage data.
Albeit restrained by time, the modellers uncovered some interesting patterns in geography, age and different measures of deprivation.

A big thank you to all speakers and participants!
