PDE Software Frameworks (PDESoft) 2016

4-8 July 2016

Andreas Dedner, Matteo Icardi, and David Ham

Location: Zeeman building, MS 05

Programme (updated July 1)

Book of abstracts

PDESoft 2018 will be held in Norway

The numerical solution of partial differential equations is the key enabling technology for vast areas of simulation science.

The combined complexity of the systems to be simulated, the numerical methods applied and the parallel hardware employed has made the development and application of advanced, high performance, highly usable, rigorously engineered and extensively tested PDE software frameworks a critical and leading field of computational science and engineering research.

PDESoft 2016 provides a forum for the developers of tools solving the diverse stages of the numerical PDE process to exchange the latest developments and future ideas.

If you develop:

  • meshing tools;
  • solvers for large systems of equations;
  • numerical PDE solvers;
  • data visualisation systems;
  • user interfaces to scientific software;

or any other part of the PDE toolchain, this is the workshop for you.

PDESoft 2016 follows in the successful footsteps of PDESoft 2012 in Münster and PDESoft 2014 in Heidelberg.

Following the structure of the previous PDESoft meetings, the conference will be split into two parts:

  1. the main conference from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th of July
  2. small group discussions with coding/hacking days on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th of July.

The conference is partially funded by the London Mathematical Society.
