  1. Dear all, The date for the next meeting of the forum will be 12th March, 10am-12pm, and the meeting will take place in the Teaching Grid. Please let me know if you can make it (if you’ve already said you can make this date on the Doodle no need to let me know again.) Thank you to those of you who shared your views about what we should cover in this session. The broad outline for the session is below: - Moodle – update from the Moodle service team and short presentations (3 minutes) from members of the forum about practical uses of Moodle and quick wins. - Sharing practice following discussions started at last meeting exploring the role of technology in developing the student experience, and what’s different about distance or online learning. - Brief update on the FutureLearn initiative. - Group discussions How do we assure the quality of online teaching? Considering how peer observation and student evaluation transfer to the online environment. What role does technology have to play in developing the student experience? What’s different about distance or online learning? Developing a set of guidelines. How do we evaluate technology enhanced learning projects? How do we decide which to take to scale? I’m still looking for contributors to the first two parts of the session. So if you have something you’d like to contribute, either about Moodle, building on the discussions from the last meeting or from other aspects of your work please let me know. Finally, on a related note Robert O’Toole (Senior Academic Technologist) is looking for colleagues to contribute to his research project: Would you be able to help me with my research project? I am contacting innovators and excellent teachers, administrators and researchers, to ask for a little of their time for an interview (maximum 30 minutes). The output of this will be a mini case study on “innovations and innovators in academia at Warwick”. The case studies will be used in my PhD, as well as to inform the development of our new Academic Technology service. The innovations that you choose to discuss do not have to involve technology.
