Summer 2019 Updates

Moodle Upgrade

Wednesday 10th July. It will be unavailable for some of that day so please don’t plan to use it in live sessions that day. It will be returned asap. A short training session and Moodle course will be made available to become familiar with the new features.

PRS

Our personal response system (PRS) service can be used by teachers for enabling responsive teaching, peer learning and active learning in large-group teaching. In July, Vevox replaces the Turning Point mobile response system for polling in lectures. Turning Point will still be used for hardware clickers.

Moodle Module Effective Practice Guidance

Accessibility

There is a big push on accessibility of our website and of Moodle. For Moodle, the guidance will be reflected in the effective module practice guidance. For the website, there will be more and more guidance available. There's also a push on how we can use assistive technology tools, expect to hear more about that.

Lecture Capture

As part of summer A/V upgrades, there will be an indicator light to show when a session is recording and a new pause recording feature.
