Calculators

Calculators with non-numeric displays (other than error or function messages) are currently not permitted in examinations by University regulations. In particular calculators with graphical displays and/or computer algebra systems are not permitted in examinations. If you normally use a calculator which would be in breach of these rules then you must obtain one that will satisfy them. It is in your own interests to practice with the calculator you will use in examinations prior to your first examination!

The Mathematics Department says: the use of any mathematical software and sophisticated calculators is permitted, indeed encouraged where appropriate, in Mathematics lectures, coursework and homework, even if for credit. HOWEVER, calculators are NOT permitted in any MA*** coded examination.
