Prioritising inclusion ensures that our department remains a place where everyone can contribute fully, collaborate effectively, and deliver world‑class research. We are proud to be one of the first six departments to receive the Institute of Physics Inclusion Award, recognising our commitment to improving physics for all. Our outreach and public‑engagement work allows us to share the excitement of physics and highlight the importance of our research with both the public and industry. A key focus is widening participation; we work closely with schools where students may not typically consider university or physics, helping to broaden horizons and inspire future scientists.
