Physics Building - work taking place

Starting around the middle of next month there will be major alteration work being carried out on the 4th floor in what is now Jon Duffy's area. The work is to accommodate new equipment for Chris McConville. Jon will be moving to 420 and 420A which will be made into 2 rooms.

As this major work is being carried out it has been decided that as part of the Estates Physics re-wiring scheme, the southern half of the 4th floor will be completely re-wired. The rooms affected are from 422 around to 443. The work is anticipated to be completed by July 31st. The rooms affected must be cleared as much as possible. Offices must be emptied of all belongings and furniture. It is understood that some research equipment may be impossible to move, this must be protected as much as possible. I will discuss in due course with the occupants of each room where they will be re-located to trying to minimise disruption to work.

Apologies for the inconvenience but I am afraid this work has to be carried out. Thanks, Bob Bridgland
