UHCW Visit - 13th January 2025

There will be a visit for any Physics staff and students who would like to see the medical physics facilities in our local hospital: UHCW (University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire). The University Hospital is on the northern side of Coventry and is a major clinical imaging and radiotherapy centre.

This is a chance to learn about the application of physics to medicine including:

  • career opportunities in Medical Physics. The 'Scientist Training Program (STP) is the main route into a career as a medical physicist. https://nshcs.hee.nhs.uk/programmes/stp
  • an opportunity to meet & ask questions of medical physicists
  • tours of the equipment which may include radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, MRI & X-ray

The visit will be from 6 - 8pm on Monday 13th January 2025 with a coach leaving from the Warwick Physics Department at 5.15pm and bringing people back, leaving at 8pm.

Places are limited to 50 students and will be allocated on a first to sign up basis.
