William and Lawrence Bragg, father and son, helped to transform the way we view the building blocks of the material world. Their crystallographic research first published in 1913 earned them a joint Nobel Prize (1915) and has since contributed to two-dozen more.

A century later you can discover for yourselves the people, places and physics behind the Bragg’s crystallography. For the first time this exhibition brings together original artefacts, artwork and archives that reflect the significance of the shadowy patterns the Braggs first explained a century ago.
