Joining the PSM
Membership of the PSM is open to any researcher who wishes to join and who can contribute to our work.
To apply to join the PSM, please download the Membership form and NDA (see right), read the instructions carefully, and complete it as best you can. Please note that by signing the Membership form and NDA you agree to abide by the PLATO publication policy (also available to the right).
All PSM members contribute to one or more specific work packages. When completing your membership form, you must clearly state which specific work packages you wish to join, and how you plan to contribute to them.
An overview of the PSM work packages in the form of organisation diagrams can be found on the PSM Organisation Charts page. We recommend contacting the leaders of work packages that you are interested in before completing and returning the membership form.
After you have submitted the form (see the instructions included in it), the next steps depend on where your institute is located.
- If in an ESA member country, we will contact the leaders of the work packages you have applied to join. If they agree to your contribution, your form is then sent for processing.
- If in a country that is not a member of ESA, we will contact the leaders of the work packages you have applied to join. If they agree to your contribution then they write a short justification for the inclusion of your work; this is sent as part of a recommendation for membership to the PLATO board for their approval. If approval is given, then your form is sent for processing.
