My project focuses on measuring the CKM matrix element |Vcb| using the ATLAS detector at CERN, with data from Run 2 of the LHC. The matrix element has been measured in B-meson decays before - our aim is to perform the measurement at a higher energy and look for any deviations from the current value due to evolution with energy scale and other contributions from beyond the Standard Model of particle physics.
I am also involved in the testing of silicon strip modules for the ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) upgrade.
I am an electronics demonstrator in the first and second year undergraduate physics laboratory.
