Prof. Paul Harrison
Research Interests
Elementary Particle Physics. An introduction to this field for the lay person can be found at The Particle Adventure.
My research interests include the physics of quark and lepton flavour (particle masses, mixings, oscillations and CP violation), and the Higgs mechanism. I am a member of the ATLAS experimental collaboration, for which I am involved in the triggering of events containing one or more muons.
I have also published a number of papers on neutrino phenomenology.
I also have interests in particle accelerator physics, in particular, the design of a so-called neutrino factory.
Undergraduate Teaching
I currently teach a fourth year optional course entitled Advanced Topics in Particle Physics (PX434).
I have several third and fourth year project groups.
