Shibdas Roy
I am a Research Fellow since Jan 2017, working on quantum metrology, with Dr. Animesh Datta and his Quantum Information Science group at the Dept. of Physics, University of Warwick, UK. I completed my PhD in Electrical Engineering under Prof. Ian R. Petersen and Prof. Elanor H. Huntington (who are now with Australian National University, Canberra, Australia) from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Canberra, Australia in 2015. Since my PhD, my research area has been quantum measurement and control theory for quantum information. More specifically, my work so far has involved studying estimation and control schemes for quantum systems, primarily those from quantum optics.
For a list of my publications, please see Google Scholar.
Before Warwick, I was a Research Fellow with A/Prof. Mankei Tsang at the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. Prior to my PhD, I completed my MSc in Computer Science in 2010 from the University of Oxford, UK (where I first developed keen interest in quantum information under Prof. Bob Coecke) and my BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2005 from the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Kolkata, India. Besides, I've been for about three years in (software) technology in industry, viz. NTT Data and Goldman Sachs (Bangalore, India), and also briefly working on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) as a project research assistant under Prof. Anil Kumar at the Dept. of Physics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India.
