Colleagues - as part of Birmingham City University's xCHANGE2023 festival marking International Women's Day, we are delighted to host guest presenter Clare Matysova, Senior EDI Partner at Aberdeen University and PhD Researcher at University of Leeds.

Clare will be sharing her research on Shared Parental Leave and challenging the common focus on financial barriers and cultural assumptions about who takes parental leave during a child’s first year .Exploring the impact of the UK’s shared parental leave policy from the perspective of couple’s decision-making, Clare considers how universities could create a more visible approach to supporting shared parenting within HEIs.
