Interdisciplinary workshop on Statistics and the Law

The workshop on Probabilistic Decision Support Tools will be held on 3rd and 4th January 2024. This workshop is aimed at statisticians, lawyers, police, forensic scientists, representatives of Crown Prosecution Service, ICCA, Faculty of Advocates, and the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR).

Topics will include: police procedures and predictive policing, sourcing evidence, FSR and ENFSI guidelines for reporting forensic evidence, ENFSI audit template for forensic reports.

Main statistical areas: Graphical models and probability trees; integrated decision support systems.
This workshop will include active application of statistical techniques to case studies.
